Baking

Every year my friend Shaun and I spend the day baking. Starting off early with a big cup-o-joe and our aprons attached, we get to town. We have done it since our kids were babies, when their chubby little fingers would help us cut the cookies, and now (sadly) they no longer want to help join in the powdered sugared fun.

We make yummy cookies and breads for the neighbors, friends and my favorite, bank tellers and postmen. I think every person we come into contact with should be favored with some sweet goodness. It is a chance to share the love of God as an act of service.

Shaun's goodies are always put together so elegantly, mine not so much. I probably try to do too many different cookies, while she does such a beautiful job of fewer styles. The best part is the time spent together laughing, and enjoying each other in our slippers.
