SEDONA RETREAT

I had the fun chance to have a girls weekend away. We have had one a year celebrating our 40th birthdays together. It was our friend Jennifer's day this time. She traveled from Minn. and was so happy for the warm weather and we enjoyed all the outdoors we could.

We started off with a picnic at Tempe Town Lake and enjoyed the paddle boats, soaking up the rays. Next, we shopped for all our food at Costco (my most favorite place to shop) to buy the yummy food we would be cooking together. We made it to Sedona for our veggie soup accompanied by very soothing music played by our own personal harpist, Vee. She has an amazing talent and we were very blessed to listen to her gifts displayed for us. Of course, we stayed up way too late and laughed until exhaustion set in.

We were lucky enough to hike, shop, cook and dine at some interesting locations. the highlight was the company but on the last day Jen had us make friendship bracelets. We were told ahead of time to bring a stone that represented us but to not show it to anyone else. We then had to guess which stone belonged to whom based on the looks and description. They all were different and did make an eclectic combination.

It is great to getaway from the normal every once in a while and I was thankful for Scott taking care of the kids. I came home refreshed and ready to face the hectic schedule of life again. It was a great trip!

Hi. I have been following (and enjoying!!) your blog for several weeks. I am from Iowa and am vacationing in Sedona for the next several days so when I saw your most recent post, I had to comment.

Sounds like you are blessed with very special friendships, as am I.
thanks for sharing your vacation with your readers!
