Milan's Baseball

Milan has been in the fast track the last month. He just finished up baseball, (an interesting season without a pitcher), just finished band, and is full force into football. He will be going to Shepherd next year so he can be around church friends. That has required me to pick him up from Stapley run him to Shepherd for grueling 2-3 hours of football practice in the 100 degree heat.

He started the summer off with 6 a.m. workouts. I know getting up this early on summer break is a definite sacrifice for him. This was probably his last year of baseball with Little League. It is kind of sad, he started with t-ball and has gone all the way up to Seniors. He might try the 9th grade team if he lives to think about it after football.

He now says compared to football practice, baseball is a breeze!I know this will be great for him, to discipline himself to work hard for something that is very difficult. I have challenged myself, that if he can be out there in the heat working out, so should I. How can I expect him to do something if I can not do it myself? I have used a lot of that time waiting to do lunges, squats and run my big booty off! It gives me a great perspective of his mindset and just how tired he really is. Sometimes Levi and I bring our bikes and ride the entire time we are waiting for practice to end. Even that is intentional time spent with little guy that benefits everyone.

Wrist brace for spraining wrist--$20
Ointment for pulled muscles--$5
New shorts, shoes--$80
Look of proud on his face after practice---$$Priceless
