MRSA STINKS

This has kept me busy lately. This poor boy has been through the ringer!
On his first day back to football from his concussion, he received this small cut on his chin from his helmet strap. It did not look like much that day, but the following days after were quite another story. This little cut turned into a yucky staph infection, which then, turned into MRSA. It made its way from his chin, up his cheek and into his mouth. He was in a lot of pain and a continuous drip system from two areas.

We have made visits to urgent care as well as weekly visits to the Dr. for draining and follow up. The medication, which was very strong, has eaten the lining of his stomach, and is now causing constant pain in his stomach as well as daily vomiting.

It is still an uphill battle and we are praying for him to recover and feel better. He is working on a low immune system, trial and error medication to fix the stomach problem, as well as keeping an eye on his diet to build his system back up. He has been discouraged and down because it is affecting his football career and his strength.

I am asking the Lord for His wisdom and how aggressive to be in seeking medical attention. It is hard to watch him suffer while feeling helpless because I can't make the pain go away. I do not have the answers of how to fix the problem, but I am not taking the time I spend with him for granted. It has been a joy to watch him persevere through this trial and I know the outcome will be good.
