Milan had an invitation to be part of a Quinceanera, a young lady's 15Th birthday celebration. She has a Court of Honor and has fourteen attendants, one for each year of her life, There are seven boys, seven girls and her partner. The group had been taking dance lessons for a couple months before the big day. The boys had to wear tuxes, while the girls wore formal dresses. They were presented and announced individually while they entered the room before they began a group dance. During the group dance, each male has a chance to dance individually with the birthday girl. It is a beautiful symbol of a time that is becoming to a young lady as she is saying goodbye to her childhood.
The girl is presented to everyone from her parents, while the dad switches her shoes from flats to heels. She passes a doll to a younger girl in the party to show the sisterly affection relationship. She has a daddy/daughter dance and then is passed to her partner. There is a formal dinner with the Court of Honor eating separately before the dancing begins.
Milan looked so handsome and it was so fun to watch him dancing formally. He put a lot of hours into the lessons and looked very grown up. I love this boy!!! He is such a charmer and really had fun when the open dancing began.
