Most of you know that my husband has been sick with Valley Fever. He has not been himself and it has taken its tole on his physical health. He has always been able to do whatever he wanted to do without limitations.

As it has almost been a year now, he is slowly getting back to normal. Our yard was one of those things he had started but was not really able to finish all at one time. That has been hard for him as well as the looking at it unfinished everyday.

I received a call two weeks ago from someone in our church who wanted to bless us by doing our yard. Who does that? It has been such a huge blessing as well as humbling experience. I am a giver and I love to give, I have struggled with being a receiver of such an amazing gift.

For two weeks we have had 6-8 crew of guys working on our yard from 6 am until 3 pm. They put in a sprinkler system, dug out soil, laid rock and sod. The transformation is so beautiful!! I am in awe of someone who wanted to bless us by doing what he does everyday.

Our pastor spoke yesterday of "enabling opportunities" within the body of Christ. God has given one man a gift and he in turned blessed us with that gift. I wanted to bring my hair chair outside so I could cut all of their hair, but that seemed unpractical. I opted for gatorade and homemade brownies instead. I know the thought is not to repay someone for a gift but instead, pass that gift on to someone else. This has been very hard to do and I am learning to be a gracious receiver.

I am thankful and grateful for a gift that was given through a man who knows an awesome God. It is so good to be blessed and know it comes from my Father as well as those He prods to serve.
