Last night was open house at Mountain View. I can't believe it is Nolan's senior year and Cassidy's junior year. I wish I could have gone through both of their schedules but opted for my senior.
It occurred to me that some of the teachers knew both of them while others knew only them as individuals. They are both so different and look at school in their own way and are both successful in their own strengths.
I realized that this could be the last year that they ride together to school. As Nolan is driving and Cass will be soon, I am hoping for a year of bonding. I am a hopeless romantic and I do feel it could happen! It has been challenging for them to agree on the right time to leave, and who should compromise their schedule to do it. I know it is a beginning of life communication skills that will continue in their jobs, friendships and (way in the future)marriages.
For now, I am relishing in the past. Days of long ago when they played dress up as Batman and Ariel, playing Marco Polo in the pool, and endless nights of games and favorite movies.
