Beach Lovin'

Levi and I, with a few friends, made a quick trip to the beach and to Lego Land. This was Levi's first trip to California and he fell in love with it. We have been to the beach in Mexico, but had not been to the beach in California with Levi. He loved the waves, they are much harder there, and the water much colder. His lips were blue, but he wanted to stay in the water the whole time.

I think the fact that we did not see or feel as many creatures swimming over his feet helped relax him. As he built sand castles, body surfed and played ball in the sand, the time came when we had to leave. He was heartbroken and said "I am eight now and at this rate, I will be sixteen before I ever get to come back to California!" He did not speak to me for at least two hours after we had to leave.

We took a ferry and we just happened to be on one that ended up running into another ferry while we watched. Neither Captain was very happy about it and I must say the sound of crunching metal was a little unsettling. The weather was so beautiful and I too found myself pouting a bit that I had to come home to this oven so soon.I will definitely be making a return trip before Levi is sixteen!
