Happy 17 Baby Girl

Today is my darlin' daughters birthday. This picture was taken for her 12th birthday. She had a princess party and everyone dressed up as their favorite princess, she was Belle. We all went out to eat and at the restaurant all the little girls went up to them just hugging and oogling them for their autographs. As we were waiting outside the girls all stood around and waved their princess waves at the cars going by as they honked and waved back. I think people thought they were hired on by the restaurant to bring in business and the girls loved the attention.

For her seventeenth we are going back to that same restaurant with her friends but alas, no princess dresses. Instead, she asked for her ears to be pierced (the cartilage) and a fun night with her friends. She has a wonderful group of friends who adore her as does her family.

She has grown up to be such a lovely girl with a heart towards the Lord and a willingness to serve God in all she does. She has compassion for the hurting and a softness for the broken. She tries to include those who feel unloved and actively encourages all those that know her. She cracks us up with her silliness and as we have watched her blossom and learn more about herself, she is a joy in our family. God has blessed me for allowing her to be my daughter. I think in about ten years she might like us again too.
