Milan received his first concussion at practice a couple of days before Shepherd's scrimmage game. He was very bummed that he was unable to play and had to standby to watch on the sidelines.
I must say, I did not care for seeing him with his eyes rolled back in his head while very incoherent. He took a helmet to the head at practice and his teammates noticed he was out of it before the coaches took him off the field. He was knocked out and did not remember what happened to him. After 45 minutes at urgent care, they referred us to ER, which took another three hours. He had x-rays for his neck and CT scans for his head. The doctor said no football for a week, which I was relieved for.
He is fine now and will be playing in Shepherd's first game on Tuesday, Lord willing. It was scary for me, painful for him, and I have a sneaking suspicion it will not be our last ER trip.
