Christmas

This year Christmas was spent at home with some really great friends. We had a traditional dinner and just hung out. Good for just taking it easy, and focusing on the birth of our Lord.

We left the next day for Wyoming, it was so cold we got stuck in a blizzard. What was supposed to take two hours in flight took eleven. By the time we made it to Rapid City, S.D., the roads were closed. We were lucky to find a hotel by the airport, I had never seen snow and wind that harsh. It was 13* below zero and it actually hurt to breathe. It made for a restful night before we were able to see Grandma and Grandpa.

I forgot my camera for this trip and have no pictures of us sledding. Levi also got to go ice fishing with Grandpa, which was the highlight of his trip. I was happy to catch up on my reading and sleeping. It is cold, dark and cozy in the basement where we sleep, which makes for a very relaxing vacation. We were able to visit with the family and that made Scott very happy.

The older kids went to Disneyland with their dad for a week, so they were happy as well. These are the times when being a blended family are tricky. I have to keep my mind in check so that depression does not set in. It is hard to be away from them as well as for Levi. He really misses his siblings when they are gone. I was glad when we were all together again.
