MNCLL WINS CITY!!!!!

This is a very exciting time in our house for baseball. Levi's team won the city district tournament and will advance to the state tournament in Douglas, Az. Our league has never won before in all the years they have played and so it makes the win even sweeter. It feels like we were the underdog going in, some of the teams have a lot more money in their league, as well as a lot more kids to make the teams talented.

Our boys played with heart and were able to be undefeated in the first and second round of playoffs. It was bittersweet for Levi, as he played the Red Mountain league, there were a lot of his friends from church and other sports he has played on the opposing team. It made it fun but sad at the same time. We cheered for both teams but were happy for our boys hard work, The Championship game ended up between Red Mountain and our team, Mesa North Central, the score 25-12 but was a very close game until the end. The boys congratulated the other team and then doused their coach in water and gatorade as they planned the next few weeks of practice to prepare for State.

We will be attending the next tournaments without knowing how the other teams have faired, and are just excited to be able to participate. It is fun to watch Levi bonding with these boys who love sports as much as he does. They eat it up whether they are swimming, playing baseball or even just tackling each other on the football field. He is having a great time and I know this experience will help him in the future.
