WELCOME TO BISBEE,AZ! HOME OF THE COPPER QUEEN

Our journey began towards Douglas Az for the State Tournament. We decided to stay in this quaint little hotel called the Copper Queen. We learned it was a 'haunted' hotel full of stories that are meant to make you feel creepy. We had one of the rooms that was truly 'haunted' All night long people would come to our room and turn the door handle just to see what kind of people were actually staying in that room. Sometimes Scott would shake it on the inside just to scare them, it worked.

Although I did hear strange sounds in the middle of the night, I am not one to believe in ghosts or to give credit to that which is paranormal. I believe God asks us to veer away from such things. Many people believe in it and are fascinated by the mere thought of a spirit roaming in a room to bring their presence before you. We were amazed by such a large group of people who come to the hotel for a $40 tour that stays up all night roaming this little hotel with their meters that pick up spirits. Levi hid under the bed to scare this group in one of the other rooms across from our hall, that is until the manager of the hotel asked him and his friends not to do this because people take it very seriously and would be offended by such a childish prank. Such is life, and instead Levi had to go around scaring other boys on his baseball team for fun:)

The balcony of this hotel had a stunning view and we were able to watch an incredible storm roll in, the lightening before us, as we felt the rumble of the thunder under our feet. It was a great sight with God as the holder of all weather, we were blessed to see how magnificent our God truly is in another location. They get quite a bit of rain there and we could see how pretty it made this very small mining town.

Coach Bohn, Veronica his wife, and family stayed there as well as a few other boys and their families on team. The rest of the team stayed in Douglas at a Motel 6 right next to the prison. We thought that looked way more creepy! Although our hotel was pricey, it was a great experience and we shared breakfast everyday at the hotel restaurant. The porch overlooked the city and we took it all in as we sipped our coffee and looked forward to days of baseball with Levi.
