Little man had basketball "Hoops" camp this week at church. Melvin, from the Globetrotters, returned to give an outstanding camp. He was one point away from the championship game, but alas, it was not to be.
Instead he had an awesome week, along with one of his friends from the neighborhood, learning about who their identity is. It is not based on how well they perform or don't perform, but on who they know themselves to be in Christ. He encourages them to set their minds on what ever they dream to be, and to go for it. To not let someone else decide what they are capable of, but to believe they can achieve anything if they are willing to work hard for it.
The best part of the camp for me, was seeing Nolan, Cassidy and Levi participate together, each in their own way. Nolan was able to Coach a team (and his team made it to the championship game, they lost by one point in overtime) and Cassidy was able to do registration, as well as a lot of other little behind the scene jobs. It is such a pleasure to watch them serve others with a happy heart. It was a great week!
